Capital Football: The ACT Football Federation (Capital Football) represents the largest number of sporting participants in Canberra and the Capital Region with almost 20,000 male, female and junior players involved in football and five-a-side Futsal. Capital Football conducts an annual international youth football tournament (the Kanga Cup) in July in Canberra for boys and girls teams aged from under 10 to 18 years. The Kanga Cup attracts over 225 teams with a growing percentage of international teams including the highly successful Sing Kok boys team from Korea as well as several teams from New Zealand and elsewhere. The tournament generates around $3m in economic benefit to the national capital over six days and Incentives to attract overseas teams are available.
